Welcome back! I didn’t get my post up yesterday, life happened! But that is part of being a homeschool mom who works from home part-time. Funny thing yesterday was the Work It In Post, and that is one I really wanted to write about. Well, now you know that sometimes we just can’t work it all in, even when we want to!
While I didn’t get my post up, I did spend some time looking over the posts that were there. I really loved this one from A Glimpse of Normal on how to work in your school supplies to your budget. This is a great post for not only homeschoolers but anyone who has school aged children!
Today is Thankful Thursday, and I want to tell you why I am thankful to be getting back to our full daily homeschool curriculum schedule. While my kids may argue this, there are some points that are saving my sanity!
Our homeschool schedule changes throughout the year. We adjust it to the seasons and events that are going on in our house. This summer I decided I didn’t want to do a full schedule. I wanted to allow the kids to play a little more and for some beach time. I am thankful for the opportunity to be able to do that in our school schedule.
Now I am thankful for the chance to be able to slowly add things back into our schedule a week at a time. I am not pressured to jump right in with both feet. We had been doing our language arts and math all summer with some science mixed in. Our first week “back” to school, we added in our history lessons, followed by Ray Ray’s geography. Our full science will come next and we will be back on track.
I am also thankful for the fact that Moe Man is able to do a lot of things on his own. He has been working on getting all his credits to graduate. He has been working hard on this when he has time during the summer. Yes, he can do things as his pace! That means he may be reading something at bedtime, or he is busy during the afternoon heat. Whenever it works for him.
What are you thankful for today?
