This is a review post. I received this item in exchange for my honest review. Below you will find just that, my honest review.
We love to have books in our house. We are regulars at our local library. I always cave when my kids ask for books over candy or snacks at the store, but that is the way I grew up as well. We have recently we fallen in love with Honey by David Ezra Stein.
This is a cute story about a bear who wakes up in the spring and really wants some honey, only the honey is not ready yet. We follow this bear as he goes about his spring and summer, patiently waiting for the honey. When he is finally able to get his honey, he is so excited and eats enough to put himself to sleep for the winter.
This story is short and sweet, literally! I loved to sit down with the girls and read the story. They felt the pain of having to wait for something. We were able to take this opportunity to talk about what patience is and how it really does pay off to wait and not get upset.
Not only were the girls impressed with the story itself, but they also loved the pictures. They were gorgeous illustrations that the girls loved to look at. The story was also simple enough that Little Miss was able to “read” it to Baby Girl just by looking at the pictures. This made both the girls happy because they didn’t need me to always read it to them to enjoy it.
Honey has become a new favorite book in our house! This is one that has already been memorized by all and will be loved for many years to come!
