We are in some troubling times. There are lots of things happening right now across our nation. When given the chance to review Quick Answers to Social Issues from Master Books, I was happy. this gave me a chance to learn more about the social issues that we are facing with a biblical viewpoint.
I was given the digital copy of this book for free in exchange for my honest review.
Quick Answers to Social Issues by Bryan Osborne covers topics such as Life Issues, Equality Issues, Marriage, Sexual & Gender Issues, and Environmental Issues.
Each of these “main issues” are broken down into other issues. Each issue starts off with a little box with Bible References. Since we know that the Bible contains God’s words, this is a great way to check and see what God has to say about each of these issues.
This was an easy to read book. I was able to upload it to my Kindle and read it while on the go…because when am I not on the go? While I love having a physical book in hand, I was very impressed with the quality of this eBook! The color and layout were perfect on my phone. It is a great book!
While I said this was an easy book to read, it is also DEEP! The issues that are brought up in this book are VERY relevant. As a Christian, I knew what I was supposed to know, but this book helps to bring to light the why. It gives me the background, the history of why. It gives me confidence to state what is right and why it is right.
The one chapter that really caught my eye right now was the chapter on Racism. This is BIG right now. We don’t need to go into the why of this, we all know it. But this chapter helps to remind me the one thing I already knew, the one thing I am teaching my kids. We all come from one man, Adam, and one woman, Eve. We are all one blood. I wish I could share this whole chapter with everyone, because this chapter is important.
I have to say, if you are struggling during this time in our history, the one thing you need is this book, just for this one chapter. If you don’t know how to explain everyone as equal to your children, you need this book for this chapter!
The book ends with some great ending points. The conclusion was second favorite to the chapter on racism for me.
I recommend this book to every Christian and non-Christian. This is book that needs to be in the hands of everyone during this time that we are in.
