About The Book:

In this book, Dr Todd tells us 8 wonderful tips, but it is not just that, he breaks them down into parts. Each of these parts are described to us in small simple chapters. This book is made for the busy parent for sure! If you have 5 minutes, you have time for one chapter! One more chapter is one more tool in this tool belt called parenting! While I have issues finding time to read a book, I had no troubles reading 3-5 chapters a day of this book!

The 8 Tips seem pretty straight forward, Talking, Listening, Influencing, Connecting, Teaching, Encouraging, Correcting and Leading. However, when Dr. Todd starts to break these down, you realize how much more there is to each one. And not in a hard to work way, in a "this little thing could change that big thing, but I was doing this instead" kind of way!

Dr. Todd puts these tools into everyday life of children and parents. Like dump trucks and dirt vs gold. Instead of just words, you "see" what he is talking about and you are given super easy to follow ideas to make the changes both you and your children want to see. Because just like us, they want a happy home as well. They just see things differently and we need to work together to make things happen.

Conclusion:

If you have been searching for just the right book to help bring peace to your family. To end the bickering and struggles. If you want a book that is simple to read yet touches on all the tough topics of raising kids, you really need to grab yourself a copy of 8 Simple Tools for Raising Great Kids! I have enjoyed reading this book. It was not a chore like some parenting books, only to be left on the shelf halfway finished. I finished this book before I realized it and was ready to read it all over again! With 4 kids being homeschooled and running a blog, finding a book like that is awesome!!

What is one of your parenting tips that has helped you?
